The federal government has permitted further export of two,051 metric tonne of uncooked sugar beneath the tariff-rate quota (TRQ) to America for the US fiscal 12 months ending September 30, 2022, in accordance with DGFT.
TRQ is a quota for a quantity of exports that enter the US at comparatively low tariffs. After the quota is reached, a better tariff applies to further imports.
“Extra amount of two,051 MT of uncooked sugar, for export to the US, beneath TRQ as much as September 30, 2022, has been notified,” Directorate Basic of International Commerce (DGFT) has stated in a public discover.
It added that with this amount, complete sugar export to the US beneath TRQ throughout US fiscal 12 months 2022 could be 10,475 MT.
